Kristin Keller holds a Masters of Science in Communication Disorders from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. Prior to receiving her masters, she graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelors of Science in Communication Disorders. Kristin worked for 5 years in the Fairfax County Public school system as a speech and language therapist. From 2006-May 2014, she worked at a local, private speech and language practice and also at the Oakwood School in Annandale, VA, a K-8 school educating children with learning differences. In 2008-2009, Kristin served as head of the Literacy Clinic at George Washington University in Washington, DC and director of Camp Say It, which is a summer therapy program for children with disabilities where she was responsible for supervising graduate clinicians, creating curriculum and consulting with parents. Since August of 2014, Kristin has been providing speech and language services in the high school division at The Lab School of Washington in Washington, DC.
In 2006, Kristin was trained and certified as a practitioner in the Berard Auditory Integration Training (AIT). Kristin is also a certified instructor in the Berard method and serves on the Board of Directors for BAITIS (Berard Auditory Integration Training International Society.) She has also been trained in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets), Visualizing and Verbalizing, Wisnia Kapp Reading Program, Frame Your Thoughts and Story Grammar Marker. In addition to Kristin's speech training, she is certified in reading and writing disorders with extensive experience in the Orton-Gillingham method. Kristin holds the rare distinction of being one of the only practicing speech pathologist in Northern Virginia who is also certified to treat reading and writing difficulties.
In addition to providing diagnostic and therapeutic services at her practice, Kristin provides speech and hearing screenings to local preschools in the Northern Virginia area. She also offers consulting services with other professionals and is available as an advocate for your family. Kristin is a licensed speech language pathologist in the state of Virginia as well as a member of ASHA (American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association) and IDA (International Dyslexia Association).
Kristin started Chain Bridge Speech and Language, LLC in June 2014 to fulfill a life-long dream of opening her own practice.
